Paris Saint-Germain dropped two points against Lyon as their lead on top of the table shrunk to 11 points.
Lyon held PSG to a 1-1 draw in their Ligue 1 game on Sunday. The Parisians suffered back-to-back draws while Lyon could not hold on to their early lead.
Another night to forget for PSG!
Lyon started the game with great rhythm. Following a few half chances, Les Gones found the back of the net in the seventh minute.
Bruno Guimarães provided a brilliant assist for Lucas Paqueta, which found the Lyon forward inside the box. Paqueta latched onto the ball before smashing it past Keylor Navas with a precise shot.
PSG came close to scoring the equalizer through Kylian Mbappe several times during the first half. However, Lyon managed to hold the guests at bay with their compact defence.
At the beginning of the second half, Lyon even had several chances to double their lead. However, it was PSG who finally clinched their equalizer in the 76th minute. Following a searching pass from teenage midfielder Edouard Michut, unmarked Thilo Kehrer made it 1-1 from the far post.
PSG pushed hard to get the match-winner in the final ten minutes while Lyon remained dangerous on the counter-attacks. However, the two sides eventually settled for a draw at the Groupama Stadium.
PSG remain on top of the table with 47 points from their 20 matches. However, Nice managed to close the gap with the Parisians to 11 points after a 3-0 win over Brest earlier today.
On the other hand, Lyon slipped to 11th place in Ligue 1 as they suffered their fourth draw in a row. Next up for Les Gones is a league game against Troyes on Sunday.
