Chelsea’s quest of selling Lukaku is proving to be more difficult that initially expected.

Romelu Lukaku has cast doubt on his prospective move to Juventus this summer.

Speculation surrounding Lukaku’s future has been rampant during the transfer window. Rumours of a potential switch to Juventus have attracted criticism from Inter fans.

However, when confronted by an Inter supporter outside a sports centre in Brussels, the 30-year-old appeared to downplay the likelihood of a move to Turin.

Though reluctant to delve into the matter extensively, Lukaku’s actions spoke volumes. He smiled and shook his head as he entered his car, and when asked about the Juventus move, he replied, “No, no… I don’t think the deal will be done.”

This development adds another twist to a transfer saga that has been unfolding for weeks.

Juventus emerged as frontrunners for Lukaku’s signature after matching Inter’s £32 million ($41 million) bid. However, the rumoured negotiations with Juve resulted in serious backlash from Inter ultras, who accused the Belgium international of betrayal.

With the deal with Juventus now seemingly unlikely and the 2023-24 season approaching rapidly, Lukaku’s destination remains uncertain.

It could take some time before Inter finds out their transfer target’s final decision, as Juventus reportedly needs to offload Dusan Vlahovic to make room for Lukaku. Meanwhile, Inter is closely monitoring other potential targets, including Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun.
