Manchester United performed well in the 2019/20 season and look well prepared for the upcoming one, insists Romelu Lukaku.

Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku struck twice as his side breezed past Shakhtar Donetsk in the Europe League semi-finals.

They are now just one win away from ending their season on a high note as they now prepare to face Sevilla in the finals at RheinEnergieStadion, Cologne on Friday.

Sevilla beat Manchester United on their way to reaching the last stage of the competition.

If not for their 2-1 loss, Lukaku, who scored his 10th consecutive Europa League goal on Monday, could have had a chance to make Man United regret the decision of parting ways with him.

The Belgian marksman, however, holds no grudges against his former employers and has nothing but kind words for them.

“No, United tried their hardest,” Lukaku replied when asked on BT Sport if he feels sorry for his former team for getting dumped out of the competition.

“They had a really good season. Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] did a good job and the players did really well.

“Greenwood, Martial, and Rashford coming through, I expected all of that. I am really happy for them and they look really good for next season, I have no doubt.”
