The Liverpool star is a lifelong fan of the La Liga giants.
Luis Diaz’s father has revealed the Liverpool star is a “loyal Barcelona fan”.
Diaz celebrated his father’s return from being held hostage with an incredible display for Colombia in their match against Brazil. The Liverpool forward scored a brace as Colombia shocked the Selecao with a 2-1 victory.
Speaking to Noticias RCN about his son, Luis Manuel Diaz said: “I truth is that I know very little about Barcelona at the moment. It is true that Luis is a loyal Barcelona fan and it would be his dream to go there. So far I would like to thank Porto and Liverpool for the way they welcomed him and received him,” said Luis Manuel Diaz.
“Luis is a player who finds it easy to win over because of the way he is, because of his humility, his work, his dedication, he is a very disciplined player, thank God. There would be no problem if Luis came to Barcelona because it is a top team and one of the best in the world.”
Diaz quickly developed into one of Jurgen Klopp’s favourite forwards after a 2021 move from Porto. This season, the Colombia international has made 11 Premier League appearances, scoring three goals.
