Amid reported interest from Arsenal and Juventus, Manuel Locatelli has provided a hint of where his future loyalties could lie.

Interest from Juventus is ‘pleasing’ for Manuel Locatelli, suggesting Arsenal only have an outside chance of signing him.

Locatelli has become a top target for both clubs this summer following a decent campaign at Sassuolo. The 23-year-old also impressed at Euro 2020 to help Italy win a second European title. He provided adequate cover for Marco Verratti and scored a brace in the 3-0 win over Switzerland during the group stages.

Therefore, Locatelli’s stock has only grown and transfer links away from Sassuolo are inevitable at this point.

“Up until now, I haven’t really thought about it, I couldn’t,” he told Sky Sport Italia on the transfer rumors.

“The interest from Juventus is pleasing, they are a great team, and I have said it several times.”

Juventus have reportedly approached Sassuolo regarding a transfer deal for Locatelli. As things stand, though, no agreement has been struck between the two clubs.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal remain interested and are playing the waiting game. The Gunners intend to see how things unfold between Juventus and Sassuolo first. And if no progress is made, they could throw their hat in the ring.
