Liverpool vs Villarreal: Confirmed lineups as Konate and Diaz start for Reds

The Reds will battle it out with their Spanish rivals for a place in the Champions League final.

Liverpool will face Villarreal at Anfield in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie.

Jurgen Klopp has made three changes to the lineup that won the Merseyside derby 2-0 on Sunday. 

Ibrahima Konate returns to Liverpool’s Champions League lineup to replace Joel Matip. In midfield, Jordan Henderson starts ahead of Naby Keita, while Luis Diaz replaces Diogo Jota upfront.

Liverpool vs Villarreal: Official lineups

Here are the two side’s official lineups for the upcoming match.

Liverpool XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Henderson, Thiago, Diaz, Salah, Mane.

Villarreal XI: Rulli, Foyth, Albiol, Torres, Estupinan, Chukwueze, Parejo, Capoue, Coquelin, Lo Celso, Danjuma.

Villarreal start the game with several lineup changes compared to their 2-1 win over Getafe last week. The forward duo of Danjuma and Lo Celso make up for the absence of Gerard Moreno.

In midfield, Coquelin and Capouse start ahead of Trigueros and Iborra, who played against Getafe. Unai Emery has also made two changes to the Yellow Submarine’s backline.

Aurier starts ahead of Foyth on the left-hand side of Villarreal’s defence, while Estupanian replaces Alfonso in the lineup.
