The Real Madrid defender believes his side will defeat the Reds again in the Champions League final.
Dani Carvajal has reacted to Mohamed Salah’s comments about taking revenge on Real Madrid for the 2018 Champions League final.
Salah had to limp off the pitch after a controversial Sergio Ramos foul in the 2018 UCL final. The Reds then defeated a 3-1 defeat as Real Madrid secured their 13th Champions League title.
The Egypt star has repeatedly expressed his eagerness to ‘settle his score’ with Real Madrid in the upcoming final. But, Dani Carvajal says he must prepare himself for another defeat.
“I don’t know if Salah or Liverpool are out for revenge,” Carvajal told ABC.
“It’s true that when you lose a Champions League final, you always want to have a second chance against the same team to beat them.
“Hopefully, it won’t be a major burden for Salah to lose a second Champions League final against Real Madrid.”
Salah’s words also triggered a response from Carvajal’s teammate, Federico Valverde, who believes the Egyptian star has disrespected the Blancos.
He said (via Anfield Watch): “Obviously they are words that everyone can take however they want.
“I’m his opponent and it’s like disrespecting the Real Madrid badge, the players.”
