Ace Football previews the Champions League game between Liverpool and Leipzig and offers betting tips, odds, line-ups, and team news.

Given their recent domestic form, Liverpool will be delighted to turn their attention towards the Champions League.

The Reds have lost six out of their last seven league fixtures, and that leaves them low on confidence at the moment.

In fact, Liverpool would be more than glad that this fixture will be played at Puskas Arena in Budapest instead of Anfield. The once formidable venue has seen the Reds suffer five consecutive defeats for the first time in almost a century.

On the other hand, Leipzig have scored at least two goals in their last four games, winning all four of them. Their last defeat came against Liverpool in the first leg.

Despite Liverpool’s poor form, a 2-0 deficit remains a mountain to climb for Leipzig. However, given the Reds’ recent poor form, the Bundesliga outfit will perhaps fancy their chances at a comeback.

Liverpool Form and stats

Liverpool are in poor form, losing six of their last eight matches in all competitions. The only wins in that run came against Leipzig in the Champions League and at Sheffield United in the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are struggling to score goals, and even playing at Anfield is having no positive effect.

Liverpool’s last two matches at Anfield have been 1-0 defeats to Chelsea and Fulham.

Key Team Stats

  • Liverpool have seen under 2.5 goals in their last 5 matches (all competitions).

Leipzig Form and Stats

Leipzig are in great form, winning eight of their last nine matches in all competitions. The only blip in that run was a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side returned to the Bundesliga with a 3-0 win at Hertha Berlin and 3-2 home win against Borussia Monchengladbach.

Leipzig won 2-0 at home against Wolfsburg in the German Cup quarter-finals. The Wolves missed a penalty with Yussuf Poulsen and Hee-Chan Hwang taking advantage.

Their last match was a 3-0 win at Freiburg. It was a comfortable victory with Christopher Nkunku, Alexander Sorloth, and Emil Forsberg on target.

Key Team Stats

  • Leipzig have lost 4 of their last 8 matches (UEFA Champions League).
