Liverpool have another chance to secure their qualification for Europa League’s round of 16.
Liverpool will face LASK in a Europa League game on Thursday. The Reds need a victory as they look to look to avoid unnecessary drama in the final two matches of the group stage.
However, we still expect Jurgen Klopp to make a significant squad rotation for the upcoming home game.
Liverpool lineup
Following Alisson Becker’s hamstring injury against Manchester City, Caoimhin Kelleher is in line to start in goal for the Reds.
In defence, we expect Ibrahima Konate to make his return from injury by starting the match against LASK. The Frenchman will most likely line up alongside Jarrel Quansah, who has been Klopp’s go-to centre-back so far in the tournament.
Andy Robertson’s injury could force Klopp to keep Konstas Tsimikas from his lineup against Liverpool. Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to be given a well-deserved rest as Joe Gomez fills in the right-back spot.
In midfield, Klopp has no reason to change his usual picks for Europa League matches. Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch are ready to return to Liverpool’s starting lineup, as well as Harvey Elliot, who came in as a substitute against Manchester City.
In the attacking line, Diogo Jota’s injury concerns have already secured Luis Dias’ place in the starting lineup. We expect the Colombian forward to play alongside Cody Gakpo and Ben Doak in Klopp’s three-man attacking setup.
Liverpool starting XI vs LASK: Kelleher, Quansah, Gomez, Konate, Tsimikas, Elliott, Gravenberch, Endo, Doak, Diaz, Gakpo.
LASK lineup
LASK starting XI vs Liverpool: Lawal, Ziereis, Andrade, Talovyerov, Bello, Horvath, Ljubic, Stojkovic, Ljubicic, Zulj, Usor, Mustapha.
