Premier League champions pondering a move for 22-year old winger Ismaila Sarr rated at £40 million.
Jurgen Klopp is looking on options to strengthen his squad, as Liverpool are preparing to defend the Premier League crown in the 2020-21 campaign.
The Reds have only signed Greek left-back Kostas Tsimikas in the summer transfer window so far, with Champions League winner Thiago Alcantara being listed as top priority target before the start of the new season.
Another player on Klopp’s wish-list is 22-year old Senegalese winger Ismaila Sarr, who suffered relegation from top tier English football with Watford FC last month.
Sarr is rated at £40 million by the Hornets, after noting five goals and four assists last season.
The interest has been confirmed by Liverpool Echo journalist Paul Grost, who made the following statement:
“Ismaila Sarr I was told recently is definitely someone being looked at. Whether that turns into a formal bid remains to be seen but LFC like him.
He’s the right sort of profile and has a high ceiling to improve. They could also take advantage of Watford’s relegation too,” said Grost.
Sarr’s best game in the 2019-20 campaign came exactly against Liverpool. He scored two and set up one in Watford’s 3-0 win, as they ended the Reds’ hopes for finishing the season unbeaten and matching Arsenal’s Invincibles record.
