The Liverpool star is keen to play in his side’s next Premier League game.

Mohamed Salah led Egypt to the Africa Cup of Nations final, where they faced Senegal. However, the Pharaohs ended the tournament as the runner-ups after a penalty defeat against the Lions of Teranga.

Salah’s Liverpool teammate, Sadio Mane, scored the decisive penalty for Senegal as they won the tournament for the first time. The players will now join again as they prepare to return to Anfield for the second half of the season.

According to the Times, Salah has told Liverpool he wants to return to his side’s squad as soon as possible. The Egyptian is keen to put the AFCON disappointment behind him and participate in Liverpool’s Premier League title race.

Salah will reportedly return to Liverpool’s training on Tuesday. The striker will be available for his side’s upcoming match against Leicester on Thursday.

Liverpool are currently recovering from their 3-1 win against Cardiff in the FA Cup. The club’s medical staff will most likely check the Salah’s physical condition before reintegrating him back into the Reds’ squad.

Following the returns of Mane and Salah, Klopp will have a full squad at his disposal. Harvey Eliott made a perfect comeback from his lengthy injury by scoring his side’s first goal against Cardiff. Thiago Alcantara also made his return and played for a few minutes while Divock Origi has returned to team training.
