With three Liverpool players having already jumped ship to Saudi Arabia this summer, Mohamed Salah’s future is under intense speculation.
Liverpool have rejected a bid worth around £150 million for Mohamed Salah, according to The Athletic.
The offer came from last season’s Saudi Pro League winners, Al Ittihad. They called Liverpool director Mike Gordon on Thursday night and made their move. They tabled an initial bid of £100 million, with add-ons worth an extra £50 million included.
That said, Liverpool gave the offer no consideration. The Reds turned it down on the spot and told Al Ittihad that Salah was not for sale. They consider the case closed, although Al Ittihad don’t share the same opinion.
Last summer, Salah signed a three-year contract extension at Anfield. His agent, Ramy Abbas, has said the forward intends to honor the deal.
While speaking to the press last week, Jurgen Klopp also said the player won’t be sold. The Liverpool manager is concerned though. Not by Al Ittihad’s interest, but because the Saudi transfer window won’t close until mid-September.
The Reds have seen Roberto Firmino, Fabinho, and former captain Jordan Henderson all depart for Saudi Arabia in big-money deals this summer.
Salah has played three times for Liverpool so far this season, scoring one and dishing out two assists. He has made no comment on his future of late.
