The Liverpool newboy received a straight red card in his second Premier League match for the Reds.

Crystal Palace held Liverpool to a frustrating 1-1 draw at Anfield on Monday.

Darwin Nunez, who had several challenges with Joachin Andersen throughout the game, lost his temper and headbutted the defender in the 57th minute.

The referee immediately sent Nunez out as the Uruguayan star received his first red card at Liverpool.

NBA star and New York Knicks player Josh Hart compared the scene to another controversial moment between Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella and Cristian Romero that happened at the dying stages of the London derby.

“In the Premier League you cant head butt,” the Portland Trail Blazers tweeted.

“He should have just pulled his hair. He wouldn’t have got anything.”

Nunez has received a three-match ban for violent conduct against Andersen. The Danish centre-back revealed examples of abusive messages he received after the game, calling Instagram and Premier League to act.

“Got maybe 3-400 of these messages last night,” the 26-year-old said. “I understand you support a team but have some respect and stop act tough online.”

He added: “Hope Instagram and the Premier League do something about this.”

According to BBC, Anderson has also reported the messages, which included death threats to Palace’s Police.
