The Senegalese star is one year away from the end of his Liverpool contract.

Sadio Mane has admitted he wants a move away from Liverpool ahead of the next season.

The Senegal international has not been able to reach an agreement with the Reds over renewing his current contract. According to the Athletic, Mane has already told the club about his intention to leave Anfield this summer.

The 30-year-old himself has remained silent about the move for the most part. However, he has now admitted he would like to play elsewhere next season.

A recent poll in Senegal showed that 60 to 70 per cent of the voters preferred Mane to start a new challenge. Asked about the survey, Mane revealed: “I will do what they want. We will see soon.”

He added: “Don’t be in a hurry. We’ll see this together”

Bayern Munich are the frontrunners to sign Mane this summer. However, their proposed fee is lower than Liverpool’s demands.

The Reds must pay 15-20% of any profit they make on Mane’s sale to Southampton. Therefore, they are keen to sell the Senegalese star for more than £34m.

On the other hand, Bayern themselves are struggling to extend Serge Gnabry’s contract due to his wage demands. The Bavarians might speed up the negotiations to sign Mane once they renew Gnabry’s deal or sell him in the coming weeks.
