Premier League has long been touted as the next destination for Koulibaly, and reports in Italy suggest he could finally be on the move.

Kalidou Koulibaly’s future has regularly been a subject of speculations over the past couple of seasons.

Consistency has been the name of the game for Koulibaly in recent years and he has established himself as one of the top performers in Serie A and the best defenders in the world.

The Senegal international has seen a transfer mooted to some of the top European sides including Manchester United, Liverpool, and Paris Saint-Germain. Everton have also been credited with an interest in him in recent times.

His hefty €80 million price tag is said to have scared off potential suitors in the past – but Napoli are now reportedly ready to lower their asking price.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport [via Football Italia], the Partenopei are ready accept a lower offer for Koulibaly. The Serie A side, like many others, are feeling the economic repercussions of the coronavirus pandemic and are eager to cut down expenses.

The powerful center-back is responsible for about 10 percent of the club’s entire wage bill, which is appearing heavier after having an entire season without revenues.

A €50 million offer, the report adds, could be enough for Napoli to let go of Koulibaly when the transfer market reopens in the summer.
