Lack of playing time might convince Gravenberch to look for a new club.

Ryan Gravenberch has insisted he wants to “go back to playing” at Bayern Munich amid links with Liverpool.

Bayern paid £21m to complete Gravenberch’s transfer from Ajax last summer. But the 21-year-old failed to live up to expectations amid fierce competition in Bayern’s backline.

Having made only three Bundesliga starts for the Bavarians, Gravenberch is open to a summer switch ahead of the next season.

“I expected to play more at Bayern last season, also I thought I would get more chances,” the Dutch midfielder told ESPN.

“I want to go back to playing again, especially at my age. I hope this can happen at Bayern, otherwise we have to look further.”

Granvenberch has attracted interest from Liverpool, who are in the market to bolster their midfield line. According to Mirror, Jurgen Klopp has received a green light to pursue Gravenberch’s signature.

But Bayern have repeatedly ruled out a possible summer exit for Gravenberch.

“In my opinion, he is an incredibly talented player,” Bayern president Herbert Heiner said last week. “That’s why we brought him. He got more playing time towards the end of the season. I’m sure he’ll get more playing time in the future.”
