Jurgen Klopp has revealed Roberto Firmino could miss Liverpool’s next three games with injury.

Firmino came in as a substitute in Liverpool’s 6-1 win over Leeds United last weekend. However, he has suffered a muscular injury that will keep him out of his side’s matches against Nottingham Forest, West Ham, and Tottenham.

“Unfortunately, Bobby picked up a muscle issue,” Klopp said on Friday. “We will see how long that takes, it’s not too serious, but definitely out for tomorrow.

“Next week we have two more games. I would say they are impossible as well then we’ll see. We’ll take it day by day.”

Firmino is spending the final months of his glorious spell at Liverpool. The Brazilian star will leave the club as a free agent when his contract expires in the summer.

The Premier League match against Fulham on May 3 could see Firmino return to Liverpool’s squad. In that case, he can play five more games for the Reds before the end of the season.

Liverpool are fighting an uphill battle to secure a European place for the next season. Klopp’s men sit eighth in the Premier League, six points behind the fifth-placed Tottenham.

However, the German manager says his side must only focus on their next match.

“The only game you have to be worried about is the next game. That’s what we have to do. I don’t care about what’s after that right now,” he added.

“When you’re in a super moment, the only game you worry is the next. When you’re low you focus on just the next game. There’s no alternative. It’s about showing all our respect for Forest. Opposite of a friendly game but it’s Anfield and we have to use that as well.”
