The Reds striker limped off the pitch in the second half of his side’s victory against the Seagulls.

Liverpool defeated Brighton 2-0 in a Premier League game on Saturday. Following Luis Diaz’s opener in the first half, the Reds pushed hard to double their lead in the second period.

They eventually got what they were looking for when Mohamed Salah scored the club’s 2000th Premier League goal by converting a spot-kick.

However, Jurgen Klopp had to substitute his star striker shortly afterwards as Salah appeared to have suffered an injury. In a post-match interview, the Liverpool manager provided an early assessment of Salah’s problem.

“We will see,” Klopp said on BT Sport“He thinks it’s not serious, but you can see when Mo Salah’s sitting down that something’s not 100 per cent right.

“I think it was a situation before when he hit the ball and got blocked. I think the foot got slightly overstretched. We have to see.”

Liverpool have a crucial game against Arsenal ahead of them on Wednesday. Given the Gunners’ recent form, Klopp’s side will certainly need all of their regular starters against them.

The Reds themselves are on an eight-match winning streak in the league, with Salah continuing his integral role in their attacking unit.

By the time of writing this, the bookmakers still consider Liverpool as the favourites to win the game. However, the potential confirmation of Salah’s absence might change the odds in the coming days.
