Liverpool’s smart summer signings have significantly improved their squad, but Klopp is eyeing another exciting transfer.

Former Liverpool star Danny Murphy believes Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich is an ideal transfer target for Liverpool.

Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita, and James Milner left Anfield in the summer, leaving Jurgen Klopp with the task of reshaping Liverpool’s midfield line.

The German manager’s efforts have been successful as the new signings have seamlessly integrated into his plans. However, Murphy believes that Liverpool still needs a new versatile midfielder.

“I think they are ahead of schedule. They transformed the whole midfield in the summer with four new signings, and they have all had an impact at times this season,” he said on BBC.

“Three of the four came from clubs where they haven’t been under pressure, and they have adapted well. I think they will sign a centre half because they have lost Joel Matip for the season.

“In an ideal world, I would like a midfielder like Joshua Kimmich, someone who can dictate play and games, who is real top quality.”

Liverpool signed Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich in the summer, with the Dutchman finding a solid start to his career under Klopp. However, signing Kimmich, who is considered a linchpin of Bayern’s squad, won’t be as easy in the next transfer window.
