The Reds will have a key player back for their upcoming clash against Real Madrid.
Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Fabinho will return to Liverpool’s squad for the Champions League final on May 28.
The Brazil international limped off the pitch in the first half of the Reds’ 2-1 win over Aston Villa on Tuesday. He will most likely miss the FA Cup final against Chelsea this weekend.
However, Klopp is sure that he will have the experienced midfielder back for the upcoming Real Madrid clash.
“[He] will definitely be back for the [Champions League] final, and for the Chelsea final and before, we will see, we don’t know. That’s it.
“[He is] absolutely OK. Fab is a professional, he was obviously not happy about it, that’s clear, but he took it and is already taking on the fight against time, if you want. That’s how it is.
“It is not enough if you are ready on Friday before the final, it should be Tuesday or Wednesday or something like that and we are working on that and we are all very positive that it will be the case. So he is absolutely OK.”
Fabinho displayed one of his best performances of the season when Liverpool defeated Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final back in February.
Let’s see if the Reds can continue their dream of winning the quadrupole by beating Chelsea again this Sunday.
