The Reds completed a dramatic comeback to beat Fulham at Anfield.
Liverpool pulled off a thrilling 4-3 victory against Fulham in a match that had fans on the edge of their seats until the final whistle. Trent Alexander-Arnold was the hero of the day, scoring twice to secure a memorable comeback for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
The England international, who also scored Liverpool’s equaliser against Manchester City last weekend, told Sky Sports after the game: “It’s mental, to be honest. A game of massive ups and downs. Leading, then getting clawed back twice, then obviously losing with about five minutes to go, getting the equaliser and then getting the winner.
“It’s an unbelievable game, full of emotion. Just very, very happy to get the win and be able to get over the line.”
Alexander-Arnold scored a stunning free-kick to give Liverpool the lead in the first half, before Alexis Mac Allister doubled their lead with a spectacular long-range shot.
“I don’t think i’ve ever seen a game with so many beautiful goals,” klopp said after the game. “Macca’s [mac allister] has been doing it in training. Trent’s free-kick was unbelievable. Wataru was so important. He was really good. Then trent makes it a brace. I didn’t actually see it go in.”
Liverpool will continue their Premier League campaign with a match against Sheffield United on Wednesday.
