The Liverpool forward wishes to see one of his Portugal teammates at Anfield.
Diogo Jota has picked Bernardo Silva as one Portugal star he wishes to see at Liverpool.
Silva has developed into one of the best midfielders in the Premier League since joining the Citizens from Monaco in 2017. In the last six seasons, he has registered 55 goals and 59 assists in his 310 appearances for the Premier League giants.
Silva has also remained a cornerstone of Portugal’s lineup despite the national team’s abundance of midfield choices. It’s hard to disagree with Jota’s choice of one Portugal player he wishes to see in Liverpool’s jersey.
“Bernardo Silva,” he told That’s Football. “For sure one of the most intelligent players I know. The way he can hide the ball from the opponents is special.”
Jota himself has found a solid start to the new season. The Portuguese forward has played all four of Liverpool’s Premier League games, registering one goal. He linked up with Portugal for the international break, where he scored twice against Luxemburg.
As Liverpool hope to maintain their impressive attacking form, Jota is set to play a crucial role in Jurgen Klopp’s plan for the new season. The Reds meet Wolves in the Premier League on the back of a three-game winning run this weekend.
