The Reds are already searching for a replacement for Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool has reportedly entered the race to secure the services of Rodrygo as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah next summer.

Real Madrid did acquire Joselu on loan from Espanyol after Karim Benzema’s departure. But the 33-year-old was never intended to fill the void left by the Frenchman’s exit.

Instead, the responsibility has largely fallen on the shoulders of Rodrygo and Vinicius, who have been performing admirably, supported by the impressive Jude Bellingham, who boasts five goals and an assist in his first five games of the season.

Rodrygo has, nonetheless, attracted interest from a number of elite sides across Europe. Last week, reports emerged of Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in signing the Brazilian star as a possible replacement for Kylian Mbappe.

Mundo Deportivo has now claimed that Liverpool also consider Rodrygo as Salah’s potential successor. Despite a lucrative €250 million offer from Al Ittihad for Salah in the summer, Liverpool declined to part ways with the Egyptian winger. However, there are suggestions that Salah might consider a move next summer, given the continued interest from Saudi Arabia.

Real Madrid might agree to selling Rodrygo, but under specific conditions. Firstly, they must secure the long-anticipated transfer of Kylian Mbappe, who has been heavily linked with a move to Santiago Bernabeu in recent seasons. Secondly, Real Madrid has reportedly placed a €100 million price tag on Rodrygo, and they are adamant about receiving nothing less for his services.

Rodrygo, who has assumed a more prominent role in attack due to Vinicius’s injury, is not contemplating an exit. His contract extends until 2028, and it includes a staggering €1 billion release clause, emphasizing his commitment to the club and their future plans.
