The Reds are eager to bolster their squad by signing a new midfielder.

Liverpool are reportedly in “pole position” to sign Bayern Munich-linked Mason Mount from Chelsea.

Since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel at Allianz Arena, talks have intensified over Bayern’s possible move for Mount. However, the Bavarians should seemingly prepare for stiff competition from Liverpool.

According to Football Insider, the Reds are keen to make a £70m offer for Mount this summer. Chelsea still prefer to keep Mount at the club, but an £80m could convince them to sell the homegrown star.

Mount has become a priority target for the Reds. But Bayern Munich’s presence in the transfer race could force them to increase their offer.

Bayern are also keeping tabs on West Ham’s Declan Rice, who’s on Chelsea’s radar. A successful move for the England international could force Chelsea to think twice before selling Mount.

Rebuilding Liverpool’s midfield line seems to be Jurgen Klopp’s priority in the upcoming transfer window. The confirmed departures of Arthur Melo, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain free up space for new arrivals.

In addition to Mount, Liverpool have shown interest in signing Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch and Brighton’s Alexis Mc Allister.

After an underwhelming Premier League campaign, it seems that Liverpool are preparing for a busy transfer window this summer.
