Liverpool have been handed a timely boost after news that Thiago Alcantara and Sadio Mane have both returned to training.

Liverpool have received a massive boost ahead of the Merseyside derby against Everton. Two key players are set to return to the first-team fold.

Sadio Mane and Thiago Alcantara returned to training at the Reds Melwood training complex. Both players were initially ruled out of action due to covid-19 but have now tested negative.

According to the Mirror, both players had tested positive for the virus before the international break. They were forced to sit out the last round of games in the Premier League.

Midfielder Thiago missed matches against Arsenal and Aston Villa before the Premier League break. Mane only missed the 7-2 humiliation at the hands of Villa.

Thiago had hinted at the fact he had completed his isolation period. He recently posted photos of himself walking around Liverpool city centre.

With both players now back in training, they could be thrown straight back into the thick of it as Jurgen Klopp’s side face rivals Everton on Saturday.

Thiago especially is more than certain to start especially with news of Naby Keita testing positive for covid-19 on international duty with Guinea.

With Liverpool looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League, the presence of Mane and Thiago would be good news to Klopp and the Anfield faithful.

All eyes will now turn to Goodison Park as Everton welcome Liverpool in what is expected to be a heated Merseyside derby.
