The Reds are closely monitoring the Wolves star for a possible bid in the summer.

Liverpool could reportedly sign Matheus Nunes for £20m less if Wovles relegate to the Championship this season.

Nunes joined Wolves from Sporting Lisbon on a €45m deal last summer. However, his impressive performances this season have already attracted interest from a number of elite English sides.

The Portuguese star has emerged as a top target for Liverpool in recent months. Wolves have reportedly demanded £50m for the star midfielder, but they could be forced to sell him for a cheaper transfer fee.

According to Football Insider, Wolves could drop their asking price to £30-40m if they suffer relegation this season.

Julen Lopetegui’s side sit 13th on the Premier League table, three points above the relegation zone. Nunes and co have only registered one victory in their last five league matches.

The former Sporting CP star has made 29 appearances for Wolves this season, missing only two fixtures. Nunes’ incredible versatility could make him a valuable player for Liverpool, who have struggled with low depth in their midfield this season.

The Reds, however, are also considering a blockbuster move for Jude Bellingham. The Premier League giants are reportedly leading the race to sign the Borussia Dortmund starlet.

Bellingham’s possible arrival could convince the Reds to avoid another big-money move for a midfielder.
