The Reds are among a host of elite sides that are pursuing a move for the Borussia Dortmund youngster.

Youssoufa Moukoko has reportedly agreed to sign a contract extension at Borussia Dortmund despite serious interest from Liverpool.

The Reds emerged as the frontrunners to sign Moukoko as a free agent next summer. Prolonged talks between Moukoko and Dortmund generated speculations that Liverpool might have convinced the 18-year-old to run down his current contract.

However, it seems that Moukoko’s suitors would need to negotiate with Dortmund over a possible summer transfer.

According to 90min, Moukoko will earn around €10m a year at Dortmund, including fees and bonuses.

The agreements come after the teenager secured his place in Dortmund’s starting XI with a host of wonderful performances this season.

Having scored six goals in his 22 appearances for the Black and Yellows, Moukoko also secured a place in Hansi Flick’s Germany squad for the World Cup.

Speaking to Kicker earlier this week, Dortmund’s Sporting director Sebastian Kehl confirmed the club had offered a new financial package to Moukoko.

“We have put together a very attractive offer that gives him a lot of room for development,” he said. “That should lead to a decision. He has to make it with his environment and his advisor.

“Youssoufa can now accept this offer and commit to Borussia Dortmund – or we will go our separate ways.”
