The Reds are desperate to bounce back from their recent results in the upcoming derby.

Diogo Jota has returns to training ahead of Liverpool’s upcoming match against Everton.

Jota has missed as many as 27 games so far this season. After recovering from a hamstring issue, the 26-year-old sustained a calf injury that has kept him out of action in recent weeks.

With Luis Diaz still out with an injury and other Liverpool forwards struggling for form, Jota’s return could be a massive squad boost for the Reds.

Last Friday, Klopp gave an update on Jota’s rehab process: “Diogo Jota had a full session with the team this week, but then the next day had a rehab session again, not because of the session the day before, it was just part of the plan.

“I think he will be back in normal training next week.”

As expected, Jota has returned to Liverpool’s team training ahead of the Merseyside derby.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have lost three of their last four games, with the German boss coming under pressure for his side’s poor form.

The Reds have slipped to tenth place on the league table, 11 points away from the top four. Following their game against Everton, Liverpool will face Newcastle on February 18.
