Liverpool have been handed a timely boost with news that forward Diogo Jota could be nearing a return from injury.

Liverpool have been handed a boost after Diogo Jota stepped up his recovery from injury.

The 24-year-old was spotted at the club’s AXA training centre.

Jota has been absent since suffering a knee injury in the Champions League game against Midtjylland back in December.

Jurgen Klopp came under scrutiny at the time for fielding the Portuguese, given that Liverpool had already secured qualification from the group stage.

However, Jota could now be nearing a return to full fitness. Liverpool shared pictures of the 24-year-old undergoing gym work at their training centre.

There is no word on when exactly he would return to action. However, it is likely he could be back in the Liverpool fold before the end of February.

Prior to his injury, Jota was in splendid form for the Reds across all competitions.

He already had five Premier League goals in nine appearances and another four goals in six outings in the Champions League.

Jota is now expected to make his return ‘soon’ and provide competition to the trident of Salah, Mane and Firmino upfront.
