Fantastic news for Liverpool, they just got a major boost with one of their biggest star’s return to full training after ending his recovery period.

Liverpool can rest easy now that they got one of their biggest stars back in full training. We are obviously talking about Thiago Alcantara. The former Bayern Munich star got injured on that terrible evening at a Merseyside Derby with a knee issue that kept him away for quite a while. It was during the same match in which Virgil van Dijk also picked up a knee ligament fracture that took him out of the season completely. In Thiago’s case, the injury wasn’t that serious and he finally got back to practice at Kirkby today.

The club’s social media accounts documented the star’s return and they pictured a happy Jurgen Klopp who knows he needs this boost. As we all know, the Reds have suffered several major injuries of players who are very important for the team’s structure. Having a player like Thiago back in action is a major development for a team that urgently requires reinforcements. However, this doesn’t mean the Reds won’t try to sign new names in the winter transfer window.

The Renato Sanches option.

In recent news, it has been reported that Liverpool is about to close a deal for Renato Sanches from Lille during the winter transfer window. Fabrizio Romano confirmed there are many clubs interested in the Portuguese player for next summer but the winter transfer window is another story. Lille is currently happy with the star’s return to form but they don’t want to let him leave so soon.

Although Liverpool might be one of the clubs that want him as soon as possible, it might be too soon for him to make a decision. Certainly, Thiago Alcantara’s return to practice will ease the Reds’ urgency to look for new players in the transfer window. It’s still unclear if the recently recovered player will come back to his known level of performance immediately or it will take him a while to adapt. The good news is he’s finally back.
