Liverpool can breathe a huge sigh of relief with a report claiming the injury suffered by Fabinho is not as serious as feared.
We reported yesterday about Fabinho and the update on his injury as per Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
The midfielder now makeshift defender’s injury was the only sour note after Liverpool claimed a 2-0 win over Midtjylland on Tuesday.
Klopp mentioned he was unsure about the injury and they would have to wait for a further update on Fabinho.
In his words, “Fab, I don’t know. Muscle injuries are like this, you get the result tomorrow morning probably, we have to wait for that.”
There is still no official word from Liverpool but the Daily Mirror claims the results of a scan on Wednesday morning showed a grade-one or grade-two tear – making it a minor issue.
A grade-three tear would have ruled Fabinho out for up to six months, which would have worsened an already serious defensive crisis after Van Dijk’s anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Per the report, Fabinho will now likely miss the next three games, against West Ham, Atalanta, and Manchester City. There is a good chance he could return to action after the November international break.
