Ahead of a group stage round-four Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid, Liverpool received an injury boost on Monday.

Liverpool supporters will be relieved to know that midfielder Fabinho has returned to full training ahead of the Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.

The Brazilian was left out of three matches and moved to the rehabilitation centre after sustaining a knee injury.

However, the 28-year-old made his return to the AXA Training Centre on Monday. Jurgen Klopp will be pleased to see his veteran back on the field after witnessing Naby Keita limp off the field against Brighton on Saturday.

If there’s one thing that can light up the German boss, it is Fabinho’s fitness. Because the midfielder has been an evergreen presence for Liverpool since his arrival from Monaco in 2018.

With 131 appearances for the Reds, Fabinho has not only dominated the central zone on the pitch but also provided help in the back when needed.

The Brazil international will play a key role when the Merseyside club will host the Spanish side on Wednesday night.
