The Reds are keen to add a new midfielder to their ranks this summer.

Liverpool are reportedly considering a transfer for Juventus’ Adrien Rabiot in the next transfer window.

The France international has become a cornerstone of Bianconeri’s midfield line since joining the club from Paris Saint-Germain in 2019.

Rabiot’s current deal at the Allianz Stadium runs until the summer, with no signs of a contract renewal being imminent. Juventus’ points deduction and the prospect of missing out on the Champions League qualification could convince Rabiot to seek a free departure.

According to Four Four Two, Liverpool consider Rabiot as an experienced star who can make an immediate impact at Anfield.

The English outlet claims Liverpool prefer to make “one or two” free signings in order to save funds for their other summer targets.

The Reds will need more squad depth in midfield as Naby Keita and Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain are set to leave for free in the next transfer window. Arthur Melo, who arrived at Anfield on a loan move from Juventus last summer, will also return to Italy at the end of the season.

Manchester United pushed to sign Rabiot last summer, but Juve refused to sell him despite the threat of his free departure. Let’s see if Bianconeri will tie him down to a new contract in the remaining weeks of the campaign.
