The Reds are slowly recovering from an injury crisis that slowed down their start to the new season.

Ibrahima Konate has returned to Liverpool’s team training ahead of their return to Premier League action this weekend.

The French defender sustained a muscle injury during Liverpool’s final pre-season friendly against Strasbourg. His absence made more squad problems for Jurgen Klopp, who saw Joel Matip also getting sidelined with injury.

Liverpool hope to bounce back from their rocky start to the new season after the international break. The Reds now have a new option in defence as Konate seems ready to play in their next league game.

According to the Athletic, Liverpool will further assess Konate’s fitness before their upcoming match against Brighton.
The Reds go into their first game in almost a month while still having key players on the sidelines.

Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are both out with hamstring injuries. According to Liverpool Echo, both players will stay out of action until ‘the end of October’.

Curtis Jones, Andy Robertson, Caoimhin Kelleher and Calvin Ramsay are also yet to complete their respective recovery processes.

During the break, Jordan Henderson fully recovered from his hamstring injury, which is good news for Liverpool’s injury-hit midfield line.
