Liverpool and Real Madrid are in regular contract with Kylian Mbappe over a potential move next summer, according to reports.
Liverpool and Real Madrid are set to battle it out for Mbappe next summer. That is, if the latest reports are anything to go by.
At the moment, the Frenchman has two years left on his current PSG contract. So far, there is no indication he will sign a new deal with the French champions any time soon despite on-going negotiations.
According to French outlet L’Equipe, Liverpool are keeping an eye on Mbappe with Real Madrid also firmly in the running for his signature.
Los Blancos have been long-term admirers of the French sensation. Reports even claimed they might have gone for him this summer but for the financial impacts of the coronavirus.
Liverpool will also fancy their chances at signing Mbappe next summer. The 21-year-old recently spoke about Liverpool as a side he admired.
Klopp admitted in public it would be ‘difficult’ for Liverpool to get the PSG man. However, the report claims the Reds boss made contact with Wilfried, the player’s father, to discuss a possible transfer.
Liverpool could also move in for Mbappe because of a strong possibility they could lose either of Salah or Mane next summer.
Whether either club would be able to sign Mbappe is another matter. Both sides are particularly tight on funds at the moment.
Madrid are yet to sign anyone this summer. Liverpool might have signed three players but have only had to fork out an initial net sum of £9million.
