The English defender believes his new teammate will soon start delivering goals for the Reds.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has insisted Darwin Nunez will soon find his place in Liverpool’s attacking plans.
The Uruguayan striker joined the Reds on an £85m deal earlier this summer. Following the departure of Sadio Mane, Liverpool hope to find another consistent goalscorer in Nunez.
The Uruguayan star has struggled to find enough goalscoring chances in Liverpool’s pre-season matches so far. But Alexander-Arnold has no doubt that his newly-arrived teammates won’t need much time to integrate into the Reds’ lineup.
“[Nunez] is still kind of learning how we play, we’re learning how he plays, and soon enough we’ll get that connection,” he told LFCTV.
“I’m sure we’ll be able to supply him with the ball to score goals. You can see he’s itching for that first goal, but I’m sure once it comes it will be like London buses.
“We’ll back him. Obviously out there today [against Palace], playing with him, you know to start that No. 9 movement that he’s got, the runs that he makes, where he wants the ball.
“It’s just about finding that connection and soon enough it’ll all be good for us.”
Nunez has arrived at Anfield on the back of an impressive spell at Benfica that saw him register 47 goals and 16 assists in his 84 appearances for the Portuguese side.
Let’s see if he can open his goalscoring account at Liverpool when Jurgen Klopp’s side meet RB Salzburg on Thursday.
