The Reds crushed Chelsea with a dominant display at Anfield.

Liverpool defeated Chelsea 4-1 in their Premier League game on Wednesday. A brilliant attacking display from the hosts ensured their victory against Chelsea.

What happened?

Liverpool’s excellent start to the game led to their opening goal in the 23rd minute as Diogo Jota converted Conor Bradley’s assist with a brilliant solo run.

Only 13 minutes later, Bradley scored his first senior goal for Liverpool to double their lead, forcing Chelsea to put more bodies forward. The Blues, however, failed to gain control over the possession due to Liverpool’s wonderful counter-pressing.

Darwin Nunez missed a penalty just before the break, but Liverpool restarted their attacks soon after half-time. Bradley completed his incredible display with another assist, this time finding Dominik Szoboszlai with an inch-perfect cross.

Jurgen Klopp made four changes to his squad after Liverpool went ahead 3-0. Chelsea managed to pull one back through Christopher Nkunku in the 71st minute, but that wasn’t enough to bring them back into the game.

Luis Diaz put the icing on the cake for Liverpool by making it 4-1 in the 79th minute, converting a precise low cross from Nunez. The goal completed another fantastic display from Liverpool’s attacking line in Mohamed Salah’s absence as they maintained their spot at the top of the league table.
