The Reds claimed an easy home win in their last game before the international break.

Liverpool defeated Brentford 3-0 in their Premier League game on Sunday. Mohamed Salah bagged a brace as the Reds dominated Brentford at Anfield.

What happened?

Brentford’s found a decent start to the game as they created a few chances early on. But Liverpool went on to establish their dominance as the game neared half-time.

Darwin Nunez, who had scored two offside goals, provided the assist for Salah’s opener in the 39th minute. The Egypt international latched onto Nunez’s short pass inside the box before making it 1-0 with a precise low shot.

Brentford pushed hard to get back into the game at the beginning of the second period. But Salah then doubled the hosts’ lead by scoring his tenth goal of the season with a header.

Liverpool’s dominance continued after the second goal as they kept Brentford under pressure. The Reds finally completed their victory with another goal in the 74th minute. This time, Diogo Jota added his name to the scoresheet with a stunning shot from the edge of the box.

The victory sends Jurgen Klopp’s men to the second spot on the Premier League table, extending their unbeaten run on home soil to 16 matches.
