The fiercely-battled game didn’t introduce a winner to the FA Cup’s next round.

Liverpool drew 2-2 with Wolves in their FA Cup match on Saturday. A thrilling second half saw the Reds’ efforts to kill off the game fail.

No winners at Anfield!

Liverpool came into the game after their disappointing defeat against Brentford on Monday.

Unlike that game, the Reds managed to establish their dominance against Wolves right from the start. However, Jurgen Klopp’s men weren’t able to create enough dangerous chances.

Then came a horrible blunder from Alisson Becker, which changed the flow of the game. A misplaced pass from the Brazilian keeper saw Goncalo Guedes put the guests ahead in the 26th minute.

However, the Reds managed to come back into the game just before half-time. Following a fantastic assist from Trent Alexander-Arnold, Darwin Nunez made it 1-1 with a sublime low shot.

Liverpool maintained their attacking pressure at the beginning of the second period as they ran behind Wolves’ backline down both flanks.

Mohamed Salah completed the Reds’ comeback in the 52nd minute. But it took Wolves only 14 minutes to find the equalizer.

Hwang Hee-chan’s goal forced Liverpool to come forward for the match-winner in the final 20 minutes. But Wolves’ deadly counter-attacks didn’t let them go all-in with their attacks.

The guests even scored their third goal in the 82nd minute, but the referee ruled it out for offside. Liverpool had to settle for the home draw as they failed to bounce back from their defeat against Brentford.

The Reds will travel to Molineux Stadium to take on Wolves in a rematch game later on. But before that, they will return to Premier League to take on Brighton on Saturday.
