The Reds continued their Europa League journey with an easy win.
Liverpool defeated Union SG 2-0 in their Europa League game on Thursday. Jurgen Klopp’s men bounced back from their controversial defeat to Tottenham with a home win.
What happened?
Liverpool made a bright start to the game as they established their dominance over the possession early. However, as the first half went on, the visitors managed to effectively limit Liverpool’s ability to create chances.
The Reds finally scored the opener after a poor clearance from Union SG’s keeper just before half-time. Anthony Moris spilled the ball into Ryan Gravenberch’s pass after a long-range shot from Trent Alexander-Arnold. The Dutchman then converted the rebound to score his first goal for Liverpool.
The Reds stayed in charge of the game after the break. However, two fantastic saves from Moris kept the visitors in the game. The Reds finally doubled their lead through Diogo Jota’s striker in the 92nd minute.
Next up, Liverpool will prepare to take on Brighton in a crucial Premier League game on Sunday.
