Liverpool continued their Premier League struggle with an unexpected draw against Brighton last weekend.

Alexander-Arnold received deserved criticism for his unimpressive performance against the Seagulls. But both he and Liverpool started the game with a different pace.

The Reds took control of the match early on, scoring the opener only seven minutes in. Alexander- Arnold scored a brilliant free-kick to put his side ahead as Liverpool looked set to score more before half-time.

Klopp’s men maintained their dominance over possession but had to wait until the 53rd minute to double their lead.

Following a foul on Louis Diaz, the referee awarded Liverpool a penalty, which was then converted by Mohamed Salah.

Both Salah and Diaz had several more chances to increase Liverpool’s lead, but the Reds had to settle for the 2-0 win.

The result takes Liverpool behind Napoli on the Group A table. The Reds will meet Rangers again next week after facing Arsenal at Etihad on Sunday.
