Crysencio Summerville’s late winner secured a massive win for the crisis-ridden Peacocks.

Leeds United defeated Liverpool 2-1 in their Premier League game on Saturday. The Reds’ struggle for consistency continues as Jesse Marsch escapes crisis at Anfield.

Anfield drama!

Leeds stunned the hosts with an early opener through Rodrigo Moreno.

Following a loose back pass from Joe Gomez, Alisson slipped before getting his feet to the ball. Moreno then nodded the ball into the empty net to put the Peacocks ahead.

Liverpool bounced back quickly by going on the offensive from both flanks. Mohamed Salah converted a low cross from Andrew Robertson to register Liverpool’s equalizer in the 14th minute.

Leeds found a few more serious choices to restore their lead before half-time. However, their failure to convert those chances allowed Liverpool to double down on their attacks in the second period.

Illan Meslier made a host of fantastic saves to prevent Liverpool from completing their comeback. But then came Leeds’ late winner, which registered another disappointing defeat for the out-of-form Reds.

Following an assist from Patrick Bamford inside the box, Crysencio Summerville latched on to the ball before smashing a precise low shot behind Alisson.

Liverpool’s defeat enables Crystal Palace and West Ham to leapfrog them from the ninth spot on the Premier League table. The Reds will return to action by taking on Napoli in the Champions League on Tuesday.
