The Blaugrana will face Eibar in their final game of 2020, but it appears they’ll do so without the services of their skipper.
Lionel Messi has not reported back to training after the entire Barcelona squad took a four-day break for Christmas.
Ronald Koeman gave the Argentine permission to return to his homeland for the festive period and has now allowed him an extended vacation, ruling him out of the club’s La Liga match against Eibar on Tuesday evening.
In a very brief statement on social media, Barcelona confirmed Messi will not report back to training until after the game. No date was given or suggested as to when exactly he will return.

But, as Koeman’s men will take a trip to bottom-placed club Huesca on January 3, Messi likely intends to resume training by end of this week.
The Barcelona squad will take two days off to recover from facing Eibar before preparations begin for Huesca on Friday.
