The Red Devils midfielder opened up about the impact Cristiano Ronaldo has made in the dressing room since his blockbuster return.

Jesse Lingard has revealed Cristiano Ronaldo is ‘really humble’ and a ‘positive person’ to be around away from the cameras.

In a press conference ahead of England’s World Cup qualifier in Andorra on Saturday, Lingard was asked about CR7’s impact at Manchester United away from the pitch and his own relationship with the superstar.

The pair seem to get on well, with Lingard recently teaching Ronaldo his signature celebration – the ‘J-Lingz’.

“He’s really humble. He’s a positive person,” Lingard said about Ronaldo.

“To be learning different things off the field as well as on it has been really good. I think he can really help out the team this season.”

On the pitch, proof of Ronaldo’s impact is there for all to see. The 36-year-old has scored a brilliant five goals in six games since his return to Old Trafford. Results haven’t always gone United’s way amid some questionable decisions, but his influence has still been felt across the dressing room.

Lingard, for one, believes he has brought a new winning mentality to United.

“He’s been brilliant. He’s brought so much to the team,” said the midfielder.

“The leadership factor, he wants to win in training, he wants to win in games and he wants to trophies, which is the main thing. He’s great to be around to watch what he does. You can learn so many things from him.

“He’s one of the best players in the world. To have him back home is perfect for us at the moment.”
