Jesse Lingard has been linked with a permanent move to West Ham this summer after but it’s unclear whether he’s keen to make the move.

Jesse Lingard says he’ll “take away” many memories from his time on loan at West Ham – suggesting he doesn’t plan to make the move permanent.

If Lingard is reluctant to join the Hammers on a permanent deal then it could put a spanner in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans.

According to reports, the Manchester United manager is allegedly looking to sell the winger plus cash this summer to fund a transfer for Declan Rice.

Lingard has impressed while on loan at West Ham, with his stunning form earning him an England recall.

But Solskjaer is still unable to guarantee Lingard a permanent spot in his United side next season and is reportedly keen to cash in on the winger while he’s in hot demand.

According to The Athletic, Rice is high up on Solskjaer’s transfer wishlist and United would be willing to exchange Lingard in some capacity to secure his services.

Lingard could also reportedly be swapped for Harry Kane plus cash, although Tottenham have a long-standing interest in Anthony Martial, and the Frenchman could feasibly be exchanged instead.

Lingard could play his final game for West Ham this Sunday as the Irons take on Southampton at the London Stadium.

Ahead of the fixture, Lingard hinted he’ll be returning to United for good in the summer, telling West Ham’s official website: “Yes, 100 per cent.

“It’s been great [his time on loan], I’ve made a lot of new people and made a countless number of friends, so to take on this challenge has been amazing and to take away the memories will be special.”

Lingard added: “I think just obviously playing week-in week-out, the lads have been brilliant, the staff have been brilliant and they’ve put confidence in me to play and do well.

“I was already ready to play from many months ago so to play the first game at Villa seems a lifetime ago now that we’re near the end of the season, but it’s been a brilliant experience and I’ll take away so many memories.”
