Forest broke the record for most signings in a single EPL transfer window last summer.

Nottingham Forest have released Jesse Lingard after the expiration of his one-year deal.

The former Manchester United player joined the Forest on a £115k-per-week last summer. However, he failed to register a single goal or assist in his 17 Premier League performances for the club.

Forest added over 20 new players to their squad in a bid to secure Premier League survival last summer. Steve Cooper’s side ended the season in the 16th spot on the table, four points above the relegation zone.

The club have now decided to open up space on their wage books ahead of the new transfer window. In addition to Lingard, André Ayew, Cafú, Jack Colback, Jordan Smith, and Lyle Taylor will leave Forest this summer. Keylor Navas, Dean Henderson and Renan Lodi will also return to their parent clubs after ending their respective loan spells at City Ground.

The Premier League side have also confirmed that Serge Aurier has activated a one-year extension in his contract. The Ivorian star enjoyed a form revival under Cooper, making 28 appearances for Forest last season.

Nottingham Forest will play their first friendly fixture of the summer against Notts County on July 15.
