A Manchester United defender can’t quite put his finger on what seems to be holding back his side from performing at desired levels.
Manchester United find themselves placed 16th in the standings after completing three matchdays of this Premier League season.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men started the new season on the wrong foot as they suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace at home.
Another unsatisfactory performance followed in the next league outing, though they managed to collect all three points from that match as they narrowly won 3-1 over Brighton.
What happened in their second league match at Old Trafford was nothing less than a catastrophe as they were dismantled 6-1 by Tottenham.
Victor Lindelof, who did not feature in the Spurs thrashing through injury, expects his club teammates to return with renewed energy after the international break and start performing at their maximum levels.
Lindelof told Aftonbladet: “It hasn’t been the best start for us in the league, I don’t know what it’s all about.
“If it’s because we played for a long time in Europe [last season] and didn’t get the time off we usually get… it’s difficult to answer.
“We probably had one or two weeks together before the league started and we haven’t got to the level we’ve wanted. But I think after this international break, a lot of players are back and ready to perform at the level we can.”
