His goal-scoring exploits were particularly impressive during his time at Atlante, where he made a significant impact. Casarín even had a stint at Barcelona in Spain. He represented Mexico in the 1950 World Cup, scoring an impressive 15 goals in just 16 games for his national team.

His accomplishments include four league titles and a remarkable 29 goals in a single tournament, cementing his status as a Toluca idol.

However, it was his time at Cruz Azul that defined his legacy, accounting for 169 of his impressive 294 Liga MX goals.

Not only did Hermosillo win the league’s golden boot three consecutive times, but he also clinched five league titles during his tenure at América, his first club. Despite wearing the number 27 shirt throughout his career, he was denied permission to wear it in the 1994 World Cup due to FIFA’s numbering system.
