The Bayern Munich striker was voted as the world’s best player of 2020 in an unofficial voting poll consisting of 30 players.
France Football may have canceled the Ballon d’Or in 2020, but Robert Lewandowski can at least look back on the year knowing he was the best player in the eyes of many.
The Pole, who scored a sensational 55 goals in only 47 appearances last season, won a treble with Bayern in Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and Champions League titles. He also beat Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi for the FIFA Best Player of the Year award.
Now, with votes from 128 journalists from 102 countries, FourFourTwo magazine has done its own version of the Ballon d’Or. Each voter had to select a top 5 list of their best players in 2020 using the following points system:
- 1st – 6 points.
- 2nd – 4 points.
- 3rd – 3 points.
- 4th – 2 points.
- 5th – 1 point.
