The Reds are keen to add a new midfielder to their ranks this winter.

Konrad Laimer admits he might decide to leave RB Leipzig if he receives a suitable offer.

Laimer agreed to join Bayern Munich this summer but Leipzig didn’t reach an agreement with their league rivals over his move.

The Austrian star has remained a key part of Leipzig’s midfield this season, attracting interest from a host of elite sides.

According to Daily Mail, Liverpool are considering a January move for Laimer amid their ongoing injury crisis.

It’s not clear whether Leipzig would sell their star midfielder mid-season. But Laimer doesn’t rule out a move away from the German side.

“I would have been ready to take the step in the summer. It was very close, but Leipzig’s go-ahead didn’t come,” he told Sport and Talk on Servus-TV. “On the one hand it’s nice because I’m an important player. On the other hand it’s also difficult because you think a lot. But I’ve come to terms with it. It just keeps going.

“One of the best clubs in the world doesn’t knock every summer either. But you can’t change it anyway.”

He added: “I’m more the type of person who talks to people and needs a feeling that everything fits together.”
